Romania's Government has announced that income from the sale of scrap to scrapyards will be considered "income from miscellaneous sources" and will be subject to a 16% tax.

Romania’s Chamber of Deputies budget-finance committee Wednesday endorsed a bill submitted by the opposition, which scraps the lump-sum tax and sets the value added tax on food and home construction at 5%.

The talks between Romania’s Finance Ministry and employers' associations representatives on the Tax Code enforcement norms were suspended Monday, after employers withdrew from negotiations because the Government didn't comply with the conditions previously agreed.
