Romanian train and subway ticket prices will be changed through an order of the minister of Transport, not according to inflation, to improve the liquidity of the responsible state-run companies.

Casinos in Romania will have a 20 lei (EUR1=RON4.2877) cover charge, while establishments with slot machines will charge RON5 for admission, under the Fiscal Code, as amended by the Government.

Romania’s state-owned subway company Metrorex could increase subway pass prices by 5-7% this year if inflation tops 5% for the interval May 2009- May 2010, company general manager Gheorghe Udriste said Wednesday.
