European Union employment and social affairs ministers on Monday agreed on a new facility to provide 45,000 micro-loans to people who have lost their jobs and want to start or further develop their own small business.

The number of unemployed people will rise by about 100,000 in the next two months and their total number will exceed 725,000, the leader of the Romanian industry union - UGIR 1903, Cezar Corici, told a news conference Thursday.

Nearly 32,000 Romanians lost their jobs in Spain in September this year and over 35,000 in October, which indicates that over 3,000 Romanians were sacked in one month alone, Romania’s employment agency ANOFM informed Monday.
