The representatives of Romania’s ruling coalition will meet Saturday evening, at the Government headquarters, after 6 p.m., in order to discuss all amendments to the draft law regulating wages in the public sector, political sources told MEDIAFAX.

Romania’s "Pro Lex" union representing police and customs officers said police officers banned by the law from going on strike will protest, as of Sept 15, through “excessive work and dedication,” while community police officers and customs staff will join the general strike planned for October 5.

The draft laws the Romanian government wants to adopt by assuming will be sent to Parliament Monday morning, Prime Minister Emil Boc and the ministers of labor, education and justice decided in a talk Saturday.

Romania’s Government will discuss next week the principles of Law on the single and unitary wage system in the public sector, Prime Minister Emil Boc said Wednesday, specifying that the authorities have no clear intention to hike the minimum wage per economy as of July.
