Local police in Bihor county, western Romania, and the Commission for the Control of Nuclear Activity are investigating the theft of 73 kilograms of uranium ore from a storage facility of the National Uranium Company.

Romania proposed Kazakhstan to exploit, through the National Uranium Company, the Asian state's reserves and to buy through long-term contracts the uranium needed for the operation of the future two nuclear reactors, Economy Ministry state secretary Tudor Serban said Tuesday.
