Seven soldiers placed under preventive arrest in the trial of the weapon heist at Romanian military base Ciorogarla were released on December 23, 2009, as they could no longer interfere with the investigations, the court explained its ruling Tuesday.

Romanian police arrested Liviu and Alexandru Iordan Sunday in mountain resort Sinaia, in connection with the weapon heist at the Ciorogarla military base.

The eight defendants in the case regarding the theft of weapons from Romanian military base Ciorogarla will be released from the Rahova Penitentiary, according to a decision issued Wednesday by the Bucharest Military Court, which sustained their requests for release.

Romanian military judges decided, Thursday, to include the Ministry of National Defense in the case file where 11 soldiers are indicted in the Ciorogarla weapon heist.

The management board of the mechanical plant in Cugir, central Romania, has given up staff cutbacks scheduled within the reorganization plan of the company, as the plant has contracts and large orders for next year.
