About 800 anticommunist protesters gathered Friday in the center of Moldovan capital Chisinau, at the government’s headquarters, holding bunches of flowers, Interfax reported online.

According to Interfax’ correspondent, protesters say the flowers symbolize the peaceful nature of their action, their disapproval of the result of the general election held over the weekend and authorities’ response to anticommunist demonstrations on April 7 and 8.
