Daimler Picks Hungary For New Eastern European Mercedes Plant
German group Daimler chose Hungary as the location for its new Mercedez-Benz plant, from a list of possible locations that also included Romania and Poland, the carmaker said Wednesday.

Mercedes-Benz plans to invest EUR800 million in the plant in Kecskemet, some 80 kilometers from Budapest, and will create up to 2,500 new jobs, the company said in a press release.
End January, Daimler officials said the group was looking to open a new Mercedes Benz plant in eastern Europe and was considering Romania and Poland, to later add Hungary and Serbia to the list of potential locations.
