EXCLUSIVE: Employees May Be Forced To Pay For Material Damage – Amended Romanian Labor Code
Employees may be forced to pay for material damage for which they are responsible within 30 days of being notified by the employer, who has the right to deduct the value of the damage from the salary if the employee refuses to pay in that timeframe, says an amendment to Romania's Labor Code.

The draft act amending the Labor Code, obtained by MEDIAFAX, says employees cannot be held accountable for damage caused by force majeure, or in circumstances where the damage is to be expected due to the nature of the work.
