EXCLUSIVE: Romanian Ctrl Bk Will Counter Inflation Through Monetary Policy – IMF Official
Romania's central bank BNR will take the necessary monetary policy measures to reduce inflation again, as price increases exceeded expectations in the first two months, influenced by the international prices of food, oil and energy, said IMF mission chief Jeffrey Franks.

Franks said inflation increased in the first two months of 2011 because of foreign prices, but added he is sure Romania's central bank will take the necessary monetary policy measures to counter it.
Romanian consumer prices rose 0.77% in February from a month earlier, while the annual inflation accelerated to an unexpected 7.6%, because of higher food prices.
