Fraud Convict Nicolae Popa Brought To Romania

Romanian fraud convict Nicolae Popa has been flown back to Romania Thursday night from Indonesia, from where he was extradited.

Popa was flown back to Romania on a private flight.

Popa has been turned over to Romanian authorities after Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono signed a decree to extradite him.

Popa, who fled Romania to escape a 15-year prison sentence in May 2000 for his part in defrauding 300,000 people in a massive Ponzi scheme, was arrested in December 2009 in Jakarta.
