Around 20 Greenpeace activists entered the headquarters of Romania's Environment Ministry on Tuesday, having eluded gate security, demanding to speak to minister Laszlo Borbely about the Rosia Montana gold mining project.

The minister told them the impact study is not yet complete, but his position remains that the environment certificate will not be issued unless the developer proves beyond a doubt that the project does not threaten the environment.
According to the minister, two activists chained themselves to the radiator in his office, "as is their style," but the discussion was civil.
