Over 900 Employees In S. Romania County To Lose Jobs By Jan ‘09

Nearly 920 employees in Olt county, southern Romania, will lose their jobs between November 2008 and January 2009, while the unemployment rate in the county is expected to reach 6.55% by yearend, the local employment agency said Wednesday.

According to Cristinel Carloganu, head of Olt Unemployment Agency, most of the layoffs are in agriculture, constructions and textile industries.

Jobless rate in Olt county is seen at 5.1% in November, up from 4.7% a month before.
