Romania Annual Inflation Rate Climbs to 0.9% in June

Romania's consumer price index hit an annual rate of 0.9% in June, from 0.6% in May, data from the country's statistics board showed Tuesday.

Romanians paid 0.33% more for services in June compared with May, and 0.07% more for non-food items. Food items cost 0.18% less on the month in June.

Compared with June 2016, prices of food rose 2.83%, non-food items cost 0.21% more, while service prices were 1.03% lower, the data showed.

Romania’s central bank forecasts inflation at 1.6% at the end of the year.
