Romania Did Not Export Weapons To Georgia - Defense Min
Romanian defense minister Teodor Melescanu said Friday Romania did not export weapons to Georgia, but there will be check-ups to see whether any such exports were made using intermediaries.

"The Ministry of Defense, as you know, does not produce any weapons. We have not exported weapons or ammunition to Georgia, and we will check to see whether any such cases occurred on the commercial line. No weapons have been exported to those areas and if they have, then they were exported by intermediaries,” Melescanu said.
Abkhaz president Sergey Bagapsh said Thursday that large quantities of weapons made in Romania and the U.S. were found in Georgian military deposits in Kodori Gorge, according to the Caucasian Knot, a website founded by the Russian association Memorial.
