Romanian household loans overdue by over one month rose by 160 million lei (EUR1=RON4.1953) to RON1.99 billion in July, and the number of latepayers amounted to 611,236 persons, central bank data showed Monday.

The bulk of late loans are in Romanian leu, namely some RON1.3 billion, even if 60% of the household loans represents hard currency financing.

Out of the total late loans in July, RON1.64 billion are overdue by more than 90 days, followed by loans overdue by 31 to 60 days (RON92.29 million) and by 61 and 90 days (RON79.7 million).

Compared with the same month of 2008, overdue household loans rose by RON1.28 billion in July.
