Romania Reaches Playoff For 2009 World Men’s Handball Championship

Romania men’s handball team on Sunday reached the playoff for the 2009 World Men’s Handball Championship to take place between January 16 and February 1, 2009 in Zagreb, Croatia, after it defeated Latvia’s team on Sunday, 39-29 (22-14), in the last game of the third preliminary group.

This result places Romania first in the third qualification group with a four-game winning streak.
