Romania’s High Council of Magistrates approved Wednesday the arrest of High Court of Justice civil department chief Florin Costiniu on charges of influence peddling.

Costiniu is investigated in a file in which social democrat senator Catalin Voicu has already been placed under preventive arrest for corruption.

Costiniu will be heard Thursday along with businessmen Marius Locic and Costel Casuneanu by anticorruption prosecutor.
