Romania’s Transelectrica Hikes By 22.6% Tariffs For Electric Pwr Cos

Romania’s state-owned power grid operator Transelectrica (TEL.RO) hikes by 22.6% the system tariffs enforced to the producers, distributors and suppliers of electric power, the company said in a statement sent to the Bucharest Bourse Monday.

The tariffs came into force as of January 1.

The tariffs will increase by 22.6%, from 14.4 RON per Mega Watts Hour to 17.66 RON/MWh, VAT excluded.

The funds target the upgrade of the transport network and the improvement of interconnection capability with neighboring countries.
