"Tests have been made two days ago on caller location of 112 mobile phone calls, and the program will be implemented according to the timetable sent to the Commission. Caller location will be implemented by November 22. (…) Romania will fully carry out its commitments by the end of November,” the statement said.
"MCTI took notice of the public letter referring Romania and Bulgaria to the European Court of Justice over the (lack of) operability of 112 emergency service. Still, MCTI appreciates as positive the fact that the Commission is delaying the execution of its decision by three months before taking Romania to the Court,” the statement mentioned.
The European Commission on Thursday said it referred Romania and Bulgaria to the European Court of Justice on lack of caller location of 112 calls and lack of availability of 112 emergency call number, but is delaying the execution of the decision by three months to give them a last chance to address the matter.
The Commission stressed that in Romania, caller location, which helps emergency services find accident victims, is not provided for all calls.
