Romanian Boxer Lucian Bute KOs Mendy To Keep IBF Super Middleweight Title

Romanian boxer Lucian Bute kept his IBF super middleweight world title after knocking out French challenger Jean Paul Mendy in the fourth round, on Saturday in Bucharest, with 10,000 people in attendance.

Bute knocked out Mendy a few seconds before the end of the fourth round, with a left jab to the chin.

This was the 31-year old fighter's 29th professional victory. Bute's record includes 24 knockouts and no losses. Mendy has a record of 29 wins, including 16 knockouts.

Bute won the IBF super middleweight title in 2007, after defeating Alejandro Berrio.
