Romanian Capital Hopes To Book U2 Concert In September

U2 could play a concert in Romania’s capital Bucharest in September if talks with the band’s management materialize, an official with the mayoralty told MEDIAFAX Friday.

"We will have a convert in September that will gather about 60,000 people. There are talks with U2 promoters," said Bogdan Hreapca, investment manager with the Bucharest city hall. He added another famous band will play a concert in Bucharest if U2 is not booked.

"It's true that we'd very much like to bring a band like U2 to play on the new Lia Manoliu stadium, but it's too soon to say whether we'll succeed," he said.
