Romanian Deputies Reduce Schedule For Next Two Weeks Over Election Campaign

Romanian deputies will have no plenary sessions in the upcoming two weeks and will work only two days within commissions and five days outside Bucharest, having the remaining days off, the Chamber decided Wednesday.

Chamber of Deputies secretary Ioan Munteanu said there are no legislative drafts to adopt on the daily agenda. He admitted another reason for the schedule is the upcoming campaign for local elections.

"The election campaign is also a factor. Many of the MPs are also local election candidates,” Munteanu said.
