Basescu attended the launch by Oracle Romania of the Innovate program and the presentation of the report “A time for new Ideas. Innovation in Central Eastern Europe” by the Economist Intelligence Unit.
Basescu said programs such as those developed by Oracle with Romanian education system institutions helped diversify the country’s educational resources and energized the labor market.
"I would like to explicitly declare the presidential institution’s support for the development of business models and public-private partnerships of the kind Oracle is consolidating in Romania," Basescu said.
He invited the private sector to become more actively involved in supporting the country’s’ education and research sectors financially.
