Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry Warns Citizens About Hurricane Threatened Areas In USA
Romania’s Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) informed of the possible targets of the tropical storms and hurricanes in the United States of America and the Caribbean Sea, and encouraged Romanians to ask Romania’s embassy in Washington for help, if the case requires, according to an official statement.

The Ministry issued information concerning the areas in the United States of America and the Caribbean Sea region likely to be affected by tropical storms and hurricane season.
Tropical storm Hanna is forecast to hit the states of South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia this Friday evening. Federal and local authorities have already alerted the emergency centers managing this type of situations.
MAE said forecasts estimate that Bahamas, Turks and Caicos islands will be hit by tropical storm on Sunday, September 7. Local authorities urged people to leave the respective areas by plane as soon as possible, as flights to and from those locations may be cancelled at any time.
The Romanian Embassy in Washington recommends all Romanian citizens in the high-risk areas to follow the instructions given by the American local and federal authorities and to contact the Romanian embassy if they need help. MAE also pointed to the website of the Romanian embassy as a useful and updated source of information.
The Romanian embassy in the United States of America is ready to handle emergencies if Romanian citizens ask for its support.
