Romanian Govt Slashes 36 Deputy Prefect Positions

Romania’s Government dismissed 36 deputy prefects across the country during its meeting Wednesday, people close to the matter told MEDIAFAX.

The Government decided last week to cut the number of deputy prefects in each county to one instead of two and two instead of three in capital Bucharest.

The Government also reduced the number of state secretaries in most ministries, in a move to lower public spending and render its activity more efficient.
