Romanian Govt To Discuss Car Tax Next Week

Romania’s Government will decide next week on how high the car pollution tax will be next year, Environment Minister Laszlo Borbely said after the Cabinet meeting Wednesday.

Earlier Wednesday, Borbely had said the normative act establishing the car pollution tax for 2011 would be discussed in the Cabinet meeting later that day or next week at the latest.

He said the Government will make some "small adjustments" to the tax, from the rates announced earlier and put up for public debate.

Borbely said the tax on eight-nine year old cars will likely be increased, but did not say by how much.
