Romanian Insurance Regulator Lowered Functioning, RCA Fees By 0.1 Points As Of Jul 1

Romania’s insurance watchdog CSA decided to lower, as of July 1, the contribution of insurers and brokers for functioning fees to 0.3% from 0.4% and the contribution for mandatory car insurance RCA activities to 1% from 1.1%.

The decisions were adopted in a meeting of the CSA board of July 21.

Earlier this year, the regulator lowered these contributions to 0.4% from 0.5% and to 1.1% from 1.25%, respectively.

"In just six months, the contribution for functioning fees was lowered 40%, while the contribution for RCA activities was lowered 20%," CSA president Angela Toncescu said Wednesday during a seminar on insurance.
