Romania’s Parliament committees for culture Tuesday endorsed proposed Culture Minister Kelemen Hunor with 24 votes in favor and two abstentions.

Kelemen, a member of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), is the first ethnic Hungarian ever proposed for culture minister in the Romanian government.

Prime Minister-designate Emil Boc will seek Wednesday a confidence vote for a Cabinet of 15 ministers and a deputy prime minister.
