Romanian PM Nominates MP Sulfina Barbu For Labor Minister, Official Decision Expected - Sources

Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc on Friday proposed democrat liberal MP Sulfina Barbu as labor minister and an official announcement is expected in the afternoon, said people familiar with the matter.

According to the sources, Boc met with President Traian Basescu at the Presidential Palace Friday morning for final talks on appointing a new labor minister.

In April, former Labor Minister Ioan Botis resigned amid allegations of a potential conflict of interest and was temporarily replaced by Boc.

The shortlist of minister propositions also includes Marian Preda, Raluca Turcan and Claudia Boghicevici.
