Romanian President Traian Basescu said Wednesday the next Government will no longer have 19 ministers, and a compression is required in the number of portfolios.

"The Cabinet, as discussed, cannot include 19 ministers. You need to compress it," Basescu said.

"Your ability to bring in governing partners is essential," Basescu added.
