Romanian Pres Wants New Govt Set Up By Christmas

Romanian President Traian Basescu said Wednesday, in the beginning of consultations held with the democrat liberals at the Presidential Palace on the creation of a new government, that he wants a Government list and agenda filed in Parliament by Saturday, so the Government is installed by Christmas.

The meeting with the democrat liberals is the final one in a series of consultations held by Basescu with Parliament parties.

Basescu also announced that Thursday, at 10 a.m., he will nominate a prime minister.

The democrat liberals proposed party leader Emil Boc for the position of prime minister.
