Romanian President Says He Will Discuss Recent Spending Cut Measures With Govt

Romanian President Traian Basescu told a press conference Thursday that he hopes to discuss with Government officials, next Wednesday, the recently announced measures to cut expenditures in the public sector.

He added that, after talks with the Cabinet members, he will be at the disposal of pensioners or unionists for further details and information on the matter.

Basescu stressed it is important that he provide details and information that are first checked and agreed upon with the Government.
