Social Democrats Back Ex Member In Independent Race For Bucharest Mayoralty

Romanian social democrats decided to back former party member Sorin Oprescu in his independent race for the general mayor seat in capital city Bucharest, the social democrats’ campaign coordinator Miron Mitrea said Tuesday.

Mitrea added the party’s voters will be advised to vote for Oprescu for the Bucharest mayor seat in the second round of local elections, and against the Democratic Liberal Party throughout the country.
