A 2,9 magnitude quake on the Richter scale has occurred on Thursday, at 11.03, in Vrancea area, at a depth of 125 kilometers.

According to the National Institute for Research and Development for Earth Physics, the cities closest to the epicenter of the earthquake were Braşov (87 km), Ploieşti (96 km), Bacău (102 km) and Galaţi (105).

The strongest earthquake recorded this year, with a magnitude of 5,2 on the Richter scale, occurred on January 30, in Vrancea seismic area.
