Local Authorities To Build Footballer Statue S Romania

Local authorities in Romanian southern city of Pitesti, Arges County, on Thursday decided to have a statue of late footballer Nicolae Dobrin erected at the main entrance to the city’s stadium, which will change its name to “Nicolae Dobrin.”

The statue will be four meters tall.

Dobrin, considered to be the best Romanian player of the 1960s and 1970s and one of the most talented footballers ever, died of lung cancer on October 26.

Morethan 5000 people attended its funeral ceremony held on October 29.
