NE Romanian Traffic Police Chief Resigns Amid Corruption Scandal

The chief of traffic police, Petru Frunza, presented his resignation less than two hours after the chief of the Iasi County Police said he expects the resignations of some of the Traffic Police officers.
 
The prosecution office within the Iasi Court of Appeal began Friday criminal investigations against 45 officers from the Iasi Traffic Police, most of them being charged with soliciting bribe and abuse of office.
