Parliament: Environmental Permits To Be Reviewed Yearly, No Longer Valid For 5/10 Years

Romania’s Lower Chamber passed on Wednesday a bill which makes environmental permits subject to yearly reviews, instead of being valid for five or ten-year periods as they are currently.

According to the bill, business operators who require the permit will be verified yearly to check if they conform to environmental standards.

The initiative aims to make businesses adhere more consistently to environmental regulations.

The bill will be sent to President Klaus Iohannis for enactment.
