Police in the Romanian eastern city of Iasi detained 17 nuns attending the enthronement ceremony of the Moldavian Orthodox Church bishop Teofan for loud and uncivil behavior.

Police Picks Up 17 Nuns For Disturbing The Peace In Eastern Romania

According to Virginia Pralea, spokesperson for the local place inspectorate, the nuns quarreled with the police officers patrolling the cathedral area, where the ceremony was talking place.
 
Eyewitnesses said nuns called police “Sons of Judas” for reasons yet unknown and then continued to argue noisily with law enforcement officers. The nuns were picked up and taken to a local police station for hearings and later let off with a warning.
