Romania 2Q Employment -2.2% On Year
Romania’s employment rate fell 2.2% in the first quarter compared with the year-earlier period, below the 0.6% annual decline in the European Union, official data showed Wednesday.

According to EU's statistics office Eurostat, 220.7 million men and women were employed in the European Union in the second quarter, of which 144.3 million were in the euro area. The figures are seasonally adjusted.
Lithuania and Latvia posted the biggest employment decrease in the second quarter, both -6.7% compared with the same quarter of 2009, followed by Bulgaria (-6.4%) and Estonia (-5.6%).
