Romania has closed its consular office in Nicosia, Cyprus, after the office staff was infected with the AH1N1 influenza virus, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday.

The consular office in Nicosia has been closed until Monday, July 20, as consular and diplomatic staff became ill with AH1N1 flu. All seven staff members and their families are receiving treatment and are under medical supervision, the Ministry said.
While the office in Nicosia is closed, the Foreign Ministry recommended that Romanian citizens in need of assistance should address the offices in Athens and Thessaloniki.
