Romania To Finance Private Pre-Tertiary Education Starting 2012 – Minister

Romania will ensure financing for private primary and secondary education starting next year, Education Minister Daniel Funeriu said Sunday on private television Pro TV.

The minister highlighted the new education law states Romania will finance standard costs per student in both public and private pre-tertiary education units.

About 70,000 students are currently enrolled in private pre-tertiary schools, said Funeriu. He added annual standard costs per student stand at about 2,000 lei (about EUR464) or RON3,000.
