Romanian Govt OKs Education Law, Public Debate Pending
The draft law on national education was discussed and approved by the Government, at first reading, and the document will now enter public debates for two weeks, after which there will be a new Government debate in view of final approval, said Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc.

Boc said the draft law is based on the principle of the national strategy on education.
The new law states that the maximum number of classes per week will be reduced from an average 25 hours to 20 hours, in basic school, and from an average 30 hours to 25 hours in high schools.
