Romanian Noncommissioned Officer Commits Suicide

A Romanian noncommissioned officer from a military unit in Barlad, eastern Romania, Saturday morning shot himself in the head and died later in Barlad emergency hospital.

According to the Vaslui Police Inspectorate, NCO Liviu Rotaru , 30, was on duty Saturday morning and shot himself with a 9mm gun.

The Vaslui Ambulance Service said Rotaru's state was bad and he was immediately rushed to hospital where he died.

Vaslui Police Inspectorate reprezentative Loredana David told MEDIAFAX that investigations into the case will be carried out by military prosecutors.
