Romanian OMV Petrom Sees Fuel Retail Sales Dn 10% In '10

Romanians could buy 10% less fuel for their cars this year, and a prognosis for 2011 is tough to make, as fuel sales are influenced by government actions, OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) chief executive Mariana Gheorghe said Wednesday.

The Petrom official said she would need to see some IMF evaluation on the state budget revenues and expenditure before making an educated forecast for 2011, adding Romania needs more predictability and stability.

Petrom is majority owned by Austrian oil and gas group OMV. The Romanian Economy Ministry holds a 20.6% stake, while investment fund Fondul Proprietatea holds 20.1%.
