Romanian Social Democrats Consider Various Alliances For Upcoming Govt

Social democrat leader Mircea Geoana said Wednesday that he does not rule out any type of political collaboration after the parliamentary polls due November 30, but that his party will first start negotiations with the smaller parties to form a parliament majority.

The social democrats could even ally with opposition rivals, the Democrat-Liberal Party, or PDL, Geoana said.

“(…) Nothing is out of the question after November 30,” he said.

Romanian President Traian Basescu said in a television show on Monday that the upcoming government will include minimum two parties.
